Shoe Dazzle Dropout

I know I haven't blogged in forever.  Not really a whole lot going on except football and chasing down a 2 year old.

So this might be interesting to a few people (maybe Beth and Jami:) A couple of months ago I joined Shoe Dazzle..its a monthly shoe service.  What they do is when you join you fill out all of this info online about what styles you like/don't like and then based on that every month at the beginning of the month they send you your shoe selections in an email and then you are supposed to choose 1 pair and then they send them to you for $49.00 every month.  And if for some reason you do not like your selections you can "skip" that month.  I thought this would be fun to try because I can not go shopping at all anymore without hearing "Mommy go to CARWOUSEL!!!!! (aka carousel that is at our mall that B is obsessed with).  or "Mommy no shop, NEED MILKSHAKE!!!" You get the picture.  SO, I thought shoe dazzle would be a great way to keep me up to date with shoes without actually having to go the store.
SO, when I received my first email with my selections I was so excited, kind of like opening a Christmas present!  But when I opened the email my selections kind of scared me.  All of the shoes had 4 inch heels with platforms..which would have MAYBE been ok in my former life pre baby but now why would I wear heels to go to Target.  Hmmm.  So I emailed them and told them maybe when I filled out my selections they interpreted my style wrong?  I said do you have any flats?  More boots?  I stay home with my little girl and am no longer going to places where I would wear anything like you have sent me previously...and here is what they send me instead:

So to be fair they did send me one option that was a pair of flats.  But they weren't for me.  Can't you picture me taking my dog and child around the block in option #1?  SO because of this I'm dropping out.

On a much more exciting note Matt just wrapped up his photo shoot for Bud Light or Budweiser (keep forgetting which one but one of the buds)..they contacted us a few months ago because they needed models and they thought we might know some guys who play/played football and would be perfect for the shoot..and yes we did!  So when you see the point of sale in your local grocery store/bar/restaurant when football season rolls around that just might be my husband..

Last of all I have to post this picture of Bailey and her cousin Ash in there perfectly matching Addidas pink
track suits.  This was not planned.  They just stopped by the other day and Ash was wearing hers and so was Bailey(track suits courtesy of Grammy Sue for Christmas). They kind of look like mini mobsters or Florida Retirees, right?
And I did have a CUTE video of the two of them but for some reason I guess all of my little videos that I take with my camera are too big to upload on blogger. Grrr.  Oh well.

Decision Made

And the winner is..

FINALLY made the decision last night and bought this one..which has always kind of been my favorite.   It does have some red in the quilt which I wanted SOME red in her room.  I actually saw this on a bed in pottery barn kids last night and it is even cuter in person and I knew it was meant to be:) Oh and I did not get the canopy part because she does not have a canopy bed.  Now off to find lots of other cute stuff to put in her room..hopefully those decisions won't take me months like this did!

Updates

Hi blog friends...

Life has been a little busy lately..and when I'm kinda busy I tend to forget about my poor little blog..
And I missed my BlogAnniversary:(  It was Feb 13th!

In other news:

- Bailey is still not sleeping at night.  Today I am not making her take a nap and hoping that she will be SO tired that she will have to go to bed at 7:30/8ish.  Her naps are not an easy thing for ME to give up.  I love having an hour or more to get things done around the house..but if her not having a nap = going to sleep without screaming and crying at night we all will be a lot happier.  If it doesn't work we still have that appointment with the sleep specialist on the 22nd...

-Bailey had her first Valentines party where she handed out Valentines with all of her little friends.  It was so fun and cute..Here are some pics from that..(check out her cute barrette that Adriane made)

Handing out her Dora Valentines

About to eat lots of unhealthy snacks

-Football started 3 weeks ago..on a Sunday..after a day of celebrating my 30th birthday at the wineries with my girlfriends.  So needless to say I was TIRED but it was a great day.  We are so busy and only getting busier. YAY!

-For those of you who live in St Louis and have not signed up for this yet check it out!!  http://www.causeforthepaws.org/Cause_for_the_Paws/Welcome.html ..head on over and sign up for the walk or donate money for a great cause!!

-I chopped my hair off..and even though the cut is REALLY cute and I have the best hair stylist in the world..I still wonder "WHAT was I thinking!!!".. NOTE TO SELF:  Short hair is not cute on you. Ever.

Thats all for now..hope everyone is having a great week!

Football, No Sleep, and the big 3-0.

So my blog has been VERY neglected lately.  As many of you know our football season is quickly approaching and since I am the scheduler/office manager/phone answerer extrordinaire life has been a little hectic lately.  On top of all of that I have a toddler who has decided that sleep is just not her thing.  Some nights she is up until 10 other nights until 1:30am because she has to go potty, needs me to talk to her, needs medicine, needs to read a book or is just plain screaming and crying and throwing every distraction in the book at me.  It has really gotten out of hand.  I have made an appointment at the sleep center at the hospital by our house so MAYBE they can help us with our issue.  Unfortunately for me and my little one they can't get us in until Feb 22nd:(.  And I am PRAYING that our insurance covers this..hmmm maybe I should call now..
Anyways, on the positive side I had a fun night last weekend:) My bday (the big 3-0) is this weekend and since my husband will be busy with football all weekend he took me out last Saturday.   My mom watched Bailey (and Fletch) because Matt booked us a room at the Westin.. so we packed them up in the car and off we went!

We ate dinner and then did a little gambling..which we never do but its fun every once in a while...well its fun if you win and we didn't so we decided to call it a night!  Our wedding reception was at the Westin (6 years ago - wow!) so we love to stay there!  It was supposed to be a surprise but Matt left the confirmation up on the computer so I kind of saw it one day..ooops:(

Oh and for my bday my mom let me go shopping with her credit card!!!!!!!!!!!  Woo hoo!  Haven't done that since high school?  And that was long long ago friends...  I remember that they would call my mom from the store and/or my mom would give me a note that said it was ok to use her card...thank goodness for pin numbers now:)  And thanks Mom!!  I needed that retail therapy to help me with my lack of sleep:)

Hope everyone is having a great week!!

Winter

Shoveling snow in 11 degree weather.  I had to do that a couple of days ago and all I have to say is I can't wait another second for Spring!  Well I guess I have to wait I don't have a choice.  But I thought I would go on record saying that WINTER IS MY LEAST FAVORITE SEASON.  Hmmm, I take that back..I like it up until Christmas is over and then I am done with it!!
Last Wednesday it snowed 5''.  Bailey woke up and immediately wanted to go outside and build a snowman.  I thought that sounded like a good idea.  What could be more fun than building a snowman with my sweet little girl, my husband, and my puppy dog.  So after 30 minutes of finding our snow gear and getting it all put on we all went outside.  First, Matt couldn't find his gloves so couldnt help with snow man {actually snow woman, we were totally ready to deck her out with tiara and all}.  Second, snow was too fluffy which made it impossible for me to make our snow lady.  Third, 2 year old screaming because it was too stinkin cold and her gloves kept coming off.  SO, we were outside for seriously 10 minutes.  30 minutes of getting ready to be outside for 10 minutes.  But we did get some get some fun pictures of our snow puppy:

Pretty fast for an 8 year old huh?  And he does have back legs..I just realized this pic makes him look like a 2 legged dog:)

He LOVES the snow.  But even after running around for a minute he was begging to go inside.

Someone also got upset because her Dora bike wouldn't go anywhere.  I tried to tell her.

Oh and one more reason to dislike winter.  My car looks like this:

So now for a few reasons Winter isn't so bad. Starbucks tastes better in the Winter.  I love skinny vanilla lattes from Starbucks and in the winter I really love them because they make you feel just a little warmer.  But now thanks to my mom I don't even need to leave my house..I can make one a home:)

With this guy I can make lattes, cappucino, tea, and coffee.  I LOVE IT!!!!!!  If you love chai tea lattes this machine can make a better chai tea latte than starbucks(in my opinion), not kidding.  Thanks to this machine I have definitely cut back on drinking Diet Coke but it has been replaced with coffee and lattes:)

Another "new" thing I love about Winter is I get to wear this:

A present from my husband..not just any NorthFace fleece but I think its called the "Osito"??  It is the softest fleece I have ever owned inside and out and I am living in it for the rest of the winter.

One more reason I love the winter:

More time just hanging out inside and playing school, grocery store, restaurant or whatever else pretend game she can come up with:)

Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying the New Year!

My New Years Resolution

Drink less of this:

and more of this:

At least 6 glasses a day.  I know they say 8 a day but I am just shooting for 6.  I could seriously go a week without drinking water..isn't that awful!? I love coffee, tea, and diet soda..
So I'm going to try to kick the new year off being a little healthier.
Wish me luck at the movies today...I'm really going to MISS my big diet coke fountain soda.
