updates and other randomness

Well I haven't blogged lately because I didnt really have anything to share..so just so I can have more than one blog post in November here you go:)
  • Bailey got a swine flu shot.  Yay!  Bad news:  we have to find some place to get another one next month {because she is 2 she has to get the shot twice}  Yuck!
  • Took Bailey to the doctor the other day and she was so good UNTIL we got into the doctors office.  Once we were in the doctor's office she decided she was bored so she ran around the room turning on the faucet, taking tissues out of the tissue box, etc.  I couldn't concentrate on what the doctor was saying so the dr had the nurse bring in some crayons and a coloring book to keep Bailey busy.  We put her up on the exam table so she could color.  She started throwing all of the colors on the floor and then threw one and hit the doctor in the face.  It was so embarrasing.  Im sure he loves us.
  • almost all of the leaves have finally fallen and {most of them} have been blown to the curb in front of the house so my lovely city can come suck them up in their fancy truck with huge vacuum ...Yay!  Here is how my back yard looked before:

Lots of leaves, right?

And here are a few other pics from around the house:

My new pilates machine/ table for all of Bailey's babies to pretend they are at lunch at daycare.  Other activities include but are not limited to gym class, naptime, and reading time.
Fletcher trying to escape nap in Bailey's playhouse.  He is so good at hiding:)

Last of all I think I found one of Bailey's Christmas presents...  you have to watch the video to get the full idea of how cool it is!!

So thats all...told you it would be random

Halloween!!

If you don't like pictures of fairy princesses you will not like this post.
We went a little camera crazy this weekend, as you will see.
Friday Bailey had her Halloween party at school where they went trick-or-treating from room to room.  It was great practice for Halloween night!

Before going to school for the Halloween party...

Her eyes are closed but I still love this picture!

At school ready to go trick or treating from classroom to classroom
The little girl behind Bailey was a doctor.  She was super cute.

She had the best time at her party.  It was chaos with 2 year olds running around all over the place with candy.  Needless to say Bailey did not take a nap that day, and she hardly ever misses a nap. Sugar + 2 year old = extremely hyper not sleepy at all toddler.

On Halloween Bailey started her night out trick or treating with her buddy Emma.  Emma was Minnie Mouse and was so cute but would not wear her Minnie Mouse ears:)  We of course took about a billion pictures of them because they looked like this:

Bailey, me, and Lucretia {our friend and neighbor/cat}

Family picture.  Fletcher did not like his costume and kept trying to get it off.  But he looked super cute!

Bailey thought he might like her tiara...

After trick or treating was all over grammy and grampy stopped by to see us  Bailey.
After  this picture it was off to bed.  I was so proud of Bailey she went to about 10 houses.. and was not ready to go home after 10. .but we made her {what 2 year old needs that much candy, anyway?}.  Unfortunately I'm pretty sure I know who will end up eating it:)

Yearbook Yourself

My cousin Jon did this on his blog and it was hilarious...so I had to try it.
Mine isn't so much funny as it is scary.  Thank goodness I was born in 1980.

Mizzou Homecoming, Family, and Getting Old

This weekend was so much fun and super busy.  My family from Texas all {well not exactly "all" of them but a lot of them} came in town for the Mizzou/Texas game.  Even though we lost the game and it was kind of cold it was still so much fun...and I will know next time when ordering tickets that row 77 is like 3 rows from the top of the stadium:) ooops.  Even though we lost, it was cold, and we were in the nosebleed section it was all worth it to see my family that I never get to see!

Halftime

My mom, cousin Christen, and I freezing at the game

Matt and I

While most of us went to the game my dad and Sarah stayed back in St Louis to watch Bailey.  They took Bailey to Six Flags.  You would think Six flags would be a little too crazy for a 2 year old but there is so much for little kids to do there.  There were tons of rides she could go on and she had the BEST time!
She had so much fun in fact that we went back the next day and this time I went along.  When I was little I loved Six Flags..I thought it was the best thing ever.  So as soon as we got there I noticed there was a new ride there and I wanted to try it out.  This ride was the most awful thing I have ever been on.  Its not scary but it was still 111 seconds of misery.  It was a rollercoaster that spins...not sure what I was thinking but ever since I have had Bailey I have not been able to go on anything that goes around in circles.  I felt pretty awful for the rest of the day and luckily Sarah was willing to go on all the rides with Bailey while I sat and watched:(  I guess motion sickness is a part of getting old??  Even though I felt really crappy all day it was fun to watch Bailey have a good time!

On the playground at Six Flags

Swings!

This is the only picture I got of my dad and Sarah with Bailey..she is always moving so kind of hard to get a good shot.

Anniversary

Yesterday was a day that was busy from beginning to end.
I did get to sleep in thanks to my wonderful husband.
And then after I woke up and got ready my friend Adriane and I headed down to the city of St Louis animal shelter to learn how to be volunteers.  We learned all that we needed to learn to be A+ volunteers and I know we both can't wait to get a chance to go and help out! All of the dogs there are amazing and it makes me so sad that there are so many of them that dont have homes:(  There was the sweetest dog there named Mabel...if Fletcher wouldn't be so jealous I would have brought her home with me.  She was SOOO sweet and one of the only dogs that wasn't barking like crazy.
Later that evening Adriane came back over to watch little Ms. B. so Matt and I could go out to dinner for our anniversary. Bailey was pumped because she knew that she was going to decorate cookies with Adriane.  My friend Kim also came over to help with Bailey so I know that Bailey had a great night hanging with the girls!

Matt and I went out to a new restaurant that we had never been to before.  It was really good {even though we didn't have reservations and had to sit in the bar at an itty bitty table, on really uncomfortable chairs}.  The food was delicious and we had a great time..its fun getting to go to dinner without babies every once in a while:)

Matt and I before going out to eat..

Fun Aunt Adriane

Right before Adriane left last night someone(Bailey) woke up and decided she wasn't sleepy anymore.  I think she just wanted to catch the tail end of the Mizzou game.

Today is our actual anniversary...6 years!  It is hard to believe it has been that long!  Unfortunately Matt has football all day today but I'm so glad we got to go out last night..thanks Ace!

Dining Room

My dining room is getting close to being finished so I thought I would post a few pictures.  I wish I would have posted a before picture but all I have is this post which really doesnt show the room very well.

one of the pictures is a little crooked I know..too lazy to fix it and retake the picture:)  There are still some things missing and a few other things Im going to do but Im more that halfway done!
I have also been doing a few other little side projects like recovering my bar stools {they were just boring off white before and were kind of stained.  They weren't looking so good.  So I found some cute fabric and here they are now:
I also did a quick redo of my bar stools that are for my island in the kitchen.  I recovered the seats of each chair and then quickly figured out that I would need to know how to sew to do the top part.  So I just opted to do a design on the back of the chair to tie it all together..I got the idea from another blog long ago I just can't remember which one.

Through all of my do-it-yourself projects I did learn one thing.  I do not understand how everyone spray paints furniture.  I tried it on a piece of our furniture that I wanted to put in the dining room and I ruined it:(  I always see cute pieces of furniture on blogs that are easily spray painted and look so good...I guess I just need a tutorial or something.  Oh well!

Family

Hello!!  Well I have been neglecting my little blog but I just cant find the time lately to post anything...but I thought I would give it a shot today since I do have a few pics to post:)
This past weekend my aunt was in town and we had a fun girls day out!  We went to lunch and then shopping..we bought Bailey her Halloween outfit.  She is going to be a fairy princess and her little outfit is so cute!  Im still looking for a costume for Fletch..
After the mall we headed to the park so Bailey could play and feed the horses at the park. It was lots of fun!  Here are some pics from our day:

At my house trying to get Bailey to look at the camera
Swinging at the park

Going down the slide with a little help..

And this video clip is from this morning...everyone needs a good fake cry early in the morning:)

And this is how I caught Bailey last night when I walked into my family room, so of course I had to document this.  I'm pretty sure she is pretending to be like her daddy...

And Matt's computer fortunately survived...
